Gar-Monastery, Kham, Tibet
When H.E. Garchen Rinpoche was released from prison in 1979, after 20 years of imprisonment, there was not a bit of the historical Gar-Monastery left. Inspired by Rinpoche, with their humble resources, the locals started to rebuild the Upper- and Lower-Monastery. As you can imagine the construction material consists of stones, clay and chopped wood.

Furthermore money is needed to keep the "Gar Changchub Chöling Monasteries" in good conduction.

Actually, we do not know how much the Monasteries have been damaged because of the large earthquake this year. News will be released promptly.
